The famous town of Zermatt is a great ski resort you could visit during winter.

You could also attempt to climb the Matterhorn during winter, which is just there, out of reach. Zermatt is one of the usual starting points for those climbing the Matterhorn. However, it is also a great little town which offers a lot for those who want the idyllic peace and quiet of the mountains in winter. It can get cold and snowy, so be prepared accordingly. 

Riviera Nayarit – Mexico

Who says that a winter holiday has to have snow and winter sports? Why not take a trip to Mexico’s west coast and enjoy a pretty warm holiday on the lovely shores of the Riviera Nayarit. Flanked by the Sierra Madre mountains, it is a lovely place to visit, one that gets a lot of sunshine during the entire year.

Bergen – Norway

Bergen is a lovely town in Norway, one which is rather picturesque. Bergen is one of the places people enjoy visiting in winter because of the high likelihood to see the Northern Lights, or rather, the Polar Lights.

Bergen is more of a village than a town, with its rustic wooden houses. It is also a sight to be seen in winter, a very idyllic place, quiet and with little to no noise. 

Paris – France

There are few towns which are as beautiful as Paris during winter. If there is snow, then Paris becomes even more beautiful. Consider visiting Paris if you want to be blown away by amazing sights, which you might have already seen in movies and in cartoons. Paris is home to many historic objects, the Louvre and Notre Dame, to name a few, and who could forget the Eiffel Tower.
